First Loves Blogfest; Clearing the Cobwebs From My Brain

This wasn't our car, but it's pretty close! |
First Movie: Star Wars, Episode IV (at the time, the whole concept made no sense so I always thought of it as Star Wars I, but don't tell George Lucas)
First Song/Band: I loved Simon and Garfunkle. Growing up in the 70s and listening to my parents music on the 8 track tape player while driving in the wood paneled station wagon, I think it was just meant to be. Still love those guys!
First Book: This may seem a bit off the wall, but I loved the book Go Ask Alice. Dark and scary, I know but following her journey, I really felt for her and her loss and sadness as a teenager. I read it over and over again until the pages were tattered. I even picked up a copy several years ago that I am holding on to for my daughter once she's old enough for it. That day seems to be approaching faster and faster.
First Love: Brad.

Great first loves posting. I did have to laugh the mentioning of the 8-Track. Recently while cleaning out our shed hubby found a little box with some of ours. The kids looked at them and asked, "what the heck are those." Of course we got a laugh.
ReplyDeleteNothing like putting reflection into practice!
ReplyDeleteInteresting first! At least you accomplished looking back are recalling those things. For me that will be work.

S&G were some of the greatest musical minds out there.
ReplyDeleteI remember those station wagons when I was a kid. Seems just about everyone had one. And I remember eight tracks too. My first was Houses of the Holy by Led Zeppelin.
ReplyDeleteUm, I'm not quite sure what an 8 track tape player is!
ReplyDeleteSimon and Garfunkel are fantastic! I have never, ever seen a Star Wars movie - I think there is something wrong with me lol!
ReplyDeleteStar Wars fan! And I always watch episode 4 first.
ReplyDeleteMy husband absolutely loves S&G. Good choice! :)
ReplyDeleteyeah for star wars.... that's it!

Here's a first: The first car I ever rolled: my mom's faux wood-paneled Ford station wagon! Haha!
ReplyDeleteI almost selected Star Wars - then I remembered Jaws.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in my blogfest!
A lot of Star Wars fan around and I love S&G too. Their voices are quite electric.

I too am a big fan of GO Ask Alice! :) It was great reading about your first loves. Have you read any of the Star Wars books? My husband loves them.
ReplyDeleteAndrea
Great choices. I haven't read Go Ask Alice, but it's on my to read list.
ReplyDeleteI love this! And I love the pic of the car. :) Star Wars was one of my first loves, too! That and Superman. :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! I remember my kids' firsts better than my own, too. It's hard to remember a life without them, but I know I had one once. . . :)
ReplyDeleteGo Ask Alice is in my top fave books. I've owned three copies so far. One I loaned someone, but never got it back. The second one is very tattered from reading it over and over, so I bought a third. :D
ReplyDeleteNice ride! :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your first, very precise :)
